Kati White Tatter
Fine Artist & Designer
Kati is an oil/acrylic painter and mixed media artist creating original botanical and coastal paintings out of her Beaufort, South Carolina studio.
-
Kati graduated from Christie's Education, London (via University of Glasgow) with an MLitt in Early European Art History, Connoisseurship and Art World Practice.
Prior, she received her BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) following two years of liberal arts study at the College of William and Mary (Go Tribe!). While at RISD, Kati also placed into Brown University's creative writing program where she indulged her literary sensibilities.
Kati is an academic at heart and loves to study. Most of her artistry comes from a place of deep spiritual meaning, reflection and academic exploration.
A native of Virginia, Kati's early artistic years were shaped by the gentle ebb and flow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. -
Those mist-clad peaks have since faded into the gentle rise and fall of Lowcountry tides here in South Carolina. Life along the salt marshes has added a new depth of sensitivity to Kati's award-winning paintings.
Additionally, Kati is thrilled to be a founding artist at the King Street Art Galleries (Studio no. 204!) hosted by the Freedman Arts District in downtown Beaufort.
When she's not in the Studio, Kati stays busy encouraging her children to develop their own artistry in life; satisfying her wanderlust on weekend excursions with her husband, Josh; and occasionally taking on acting and modeling jobs. If you can't find her anywhere else... you'll likely catch her perfecting pirouettes in the Ballet Studio.
